The Icelandic government has transferred oversight of the country’s medical device sector to the Icelandic Medicines Agency (IMA) from the Directorate of Health.

As of May 1, 2011, the IMA serves as Iceland’s competent authority for medical devices. All electronic correspondence regarding medical devices should now be sent to medicaldevices@ima.is.
